  2. I’ve tested a few filament dryers and always keep them handy. I would still recommend having a filament dryer available — especially if you live in humid regions like the UK, for example. Moisture is everywhere. Let’s say you open a spool and leave it printing overnight. When you seal it back using a vacuum pump and desiccant dehumidifiers, that may not be enough to restore the humidity to ideal levels. In such cases, I recommend drying the filament before sealing it — when needed. It also depends on the filament type. For some engineering-grade materials like PA12-CF, manufacturers even recommend using a filament dryer for a few hours before printing, including with brand-new spools. Here’s my test with Inlogic PA12-CF and PA6-CF. Brand-new filament is dried in the SUNLU E2, then fed into the Creality K2 Plus via a PTFE tube. Maybe overkill — but I got beautiful, functional prints!

  19. Another interesting print on my Creality K2 Plus. Supports placed similarly to how they would be for resin 3D printing - I am surprised that it’s worked. Scanned, scaled, and printed a speedy RC boat hull 🚤

  24. Hi Lily, Thanks so much for being active on our new forum. We appreciate it! We have a detailed guide on filament dryers, many of which have been tested by different authors. Depending on the spool size and use case, some dryers are better suited than others. For example, Polymaker’s dryer and storage boxes are ideal for single spools and casual users, while SUNLU’s products are well-suited for drying bulk spools or engineering-grade materials. Check out the guide! https://3dwithus.com/filament-dryer-boxes-and-diy-solutions
  25. Hahahaha, the puppy loves it—he really seems to like that big guy! I also recently noticed that the filament at home has become damp; the printed parts are coming out darker in color. I'm currently thinking about whether to buy a filament dryer. Looking forward to your feedback!
  26. Just received the SpacePi X4 filament dryer from Creality and about to try it out. 📦 Bonus: My fluffy assistant was the first to check out the box! 🐶 If you’ve used it already, feel free to share your thoughts, setup tips, or anything worth knowing
  27. I’ve been testing the ACMER P3 24W for a while now and just wrapped up my review. It’s a solid machine with an enclosed design, fast engraving speeds, and a few smart features that stood out — but also some things that could be improved. 📝 Full write-up here: 👉 ACMER P3 24W Laser Cutter Review 🎥 Check it out and let us know what you think: Curious if anyone else here has used the P3 or something similar? How do you find it for cutting thicker materials or working on longer jobs? I would love to hear about your experiences or see what you’ve created!
  28. Yes, it is highly likely that when the wires were cut, they momentarily touched (created a short circuit), which damaged a small component on the printhead board where the fan connects. Since you've confirmed the fan itself works, the problem is almost certainly with the board that provides power to it.
  29. Each year during TCT 3Sixty, the TCT Awards ceremony brings together innovators, engineers, startups, and industry veterans to celebrate achievements in 3D printing and additive manufacturing. 30. Just another day of 3D scanning. Carrying these cases feels like a gym session 🏋️‍i Big thanks to Southend Model Boat Club 🚤 for the space and the stunning models that helped test the Revopoint3D Trackit A big thanks to my neighbour Brian Murphy for letting me scan his 90+ year-old Citroën. Scanning inside the small garage was a challenge, but I managed to capture several components successfully. The limited space in the small garage required getting creative with the setup. I used two reinforced cases as a makeshift laptop table while the tracker stood on a tripod just inside the garage door.
  31. In the 3D printing community, these tank-like models are very popular. Many members have already printed them and compete with each other. I’m also trying to complete my DeathRacers for the next community gathering.
  32. Great post! I just printed a toy tank for my niece with PLA the other day, and she absolutely loves it. I had never considered adding motorized parts inside, though. She would probably be even happier if it could be remote-controlled. Thanks!
