I got tired of searching 4 sites for one model, so I built a search for 11 of them

Hi everyone,

I'm Chris from Austria. For a while now I've been working on a side project that came out of my own frustration. Whenever I looked for a model, I ended up with Thingiverse, Printables, MakerWorld and Cults open in different tabs, typing the same search four times.

So I built 3DSEARCH, which searches all of them at once. It now covers almost 9.7 million models from 11 sites: MakerWorld, Thingiverse, Printables, Cults3D, Creality Cloud, Sketchfab, GrabCAD, Thangs, MakerOnline, MyMiniFactory and NexPrint. Every result links to the original page, so the designers keep their downloads and likes. I don't host any files myself.

What you can do with it:

Filter by platform, category and free/paid

Search by image: upload a photo or screenshot and it looks for similar models

See when the same model is on several sites, and follow designers across platforms

Trends: what's taking off right now across all sites, plus a list of current design contests

Save models into collections

Since this is the design section: there are also generators that make a printable file right in the browser. They cover boxes to your measurements, Gridfinity bins, keychains and name tags, QR codes, lithophanes and, right now, Christmas ornaments. The site also has a print cost calculator, a slicer that runs in the browser (Kiri:Moto) and a "print doctor" that helps you work out why a print failed.

The newest part is still in beta: printer and filament management. You connect your printer (Bambu, Anycubic, Creality, Elegoo, Prusa, Klipper machines, OctoPrint, Flashforge with ZMOD), and your spools are updated automatically after each print. There's a catalog of 8,000+ filaments and QR labels for your spools. With Anycubic, Prusa, Klipper and OctoPrint printers you can also slice with OrcaSlicer and start the print from the browser.

The search itself is free and works without an account. It's available in 6 languages and as an Android app.

I'd love feedback from people who actually print: which site is missing, which filter would you want, what annoys you?

Cheers,

Chris
