Just published a new feature article after visiting a local RC model boat club during their open day.

I had the chance to steer a tugboat, chat with passionate makers, and explore how traditional craftsmanship and 3D printing can come together in this fascinating hobby.

What started as a broken model ended up as a scanned, scaled, and 3D printed RC boat. Big thanks to Clive from SouthendMBC for putting it together and making it work on the water.

Have you tried 3D printing parts for RC boats or other remote-controlled projects? Share your builds or ideas below!

P.S. Please let me know if you think itโ€™s a good idea to have a dedicated RC section on this forum.

Great post! I just printed a toy tank for my niece with PLA the other day, and she absolutely loves it. I had never considered adding motorized parts inside, though. She would probably be even happier if it could be remote-controlled. Thanks!

In the 3D printing community, these tank-like models are very popular. Many members have already printed them and compete with each other. Iโ€™m also trying to complete my DeathRacers for the next community gathering.
