Creality K2 Series 3D Printers with Multicolour CFS Units

Creality New 3D Printers: K2 and K2 Pro Lineup

Creality has officially launched two new additions to its premium K Series — the K2 and K2 Pro. These next-generation machines build on the momentum of the K2 Plus, offering high-speed, multicolour, and multi-material 3D printing with enhanced AI features and professional-grade engineering capabilities. Designed for creators, prosumers, and production environments, the K2 Series blends sturdy metal construction, advanced filament management, and smart automation into one streamlined ecosystem — now available in two different build volumes to suit a wider range of applications.

CFS-Powered Capabilities

Both K2 and K2 Pro support Creality’s CFS (Creality Filament System), enabling multicolour printing with up to 16 colours using four CFS units. CFS also manages filament detection, automatic relay printing, and humidity control. This system is especially valuable for print farms and makers working with multiple colours or soluble supports.

Creality K2 Pro set up with four CFS units — enabling up to 16-color multicolour or multi-material 3D printing workflows.

A neat setup like the one shown above — with four stacked CFS units — can significantly improve convenience when working with a wide colour palette. For creators designing custom models, being able to quickly access and switch between multiple filament shades without manual swaps streamlines the entire workflow. It’s particularly beneficial for small business workshops or studios producing personalized items, multicolour branding, or short-run product batches where colour consistency and efficiency are essential.

Ultra-Sturdy Metal Build

Featuring die-cast aluminium frame components and linear steel rails, the K2 Series offers a rigid and durable printing platform. The step-servo motor system ensures consistent and smooth extrusion, with max speeds of 600 mm/s and up to 20,000 mm/s² acceleration — striking a balance between speed and detail.

As shown in the image, the CoreXY architecture of the Creality K2 allows for a compact and space-efficient design — even with multicolour capability via the CFS unit. This makes it a practical choice for home studios, classrooms, or creative workspaces where both performance and footprint matter.

Next-Gen Performance

The K2 Pro adds active chamber heating up to 60 °C, allowing for high-performance filament use such as PA-CF and PPA-CF. Combined with an enclosure, enhanced cooling, and a hardened nozzle, it’s ready for engineering-grade applications. K2, while lacking chamber heating, still performs well with ABS and PLA-based composites.

Previously, we tested a wide range of engineering-grade materials using the Creality K2 Plus on our website. Printing such demanding filaments requires more than just a strong frame — every component from the nozzle and extruder to the heated bed and chamber plays a crucial role in achieving high-quality results. Features like chamber heating help maintain consistent temperatures and reduce warping, while hardened nozzles and powerful extrusion systems are essential for handling abrasive composites such as PA-CF or PC blends.

AI Cameras and Smart Features

Creality equips all K2 models with chamber-mounted AI cameras for error detection like spaghetti messes and missing build plates. K2 Pro also includes a nozzle camera for auto-flow calibration and waste chute monitoring — increasing success rates during complex, multicolour prints.

More Features Shared by Both Models

Additional highlights include Smart Auto Levelling, Quiet Mode, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity (K2 Pro adds Ethernet), and large internal storage — 8GB on K2 and 32GB on K2 Pro. Both use a responsive 4-inch touchscreen for intuitive navigation.

K2 Plus Review

The Creality K2 Plus boasts the largest build volume in its category at 350x350x350mm, within an enclosed CoreXY design. Building on the success of the K1 series 3D printers, Creality has introduced the K2 Plus Combo with CFS, marking the company’s first foray into multicolor 3D printing. The K2 Plus Combo comes equipped with a four-spool CFS system, and the capability to connect up to three additional boxes, expanding the multicolor potential to as many as 16 colors. Another standout feature is its size; while last year’s K1 Max offered the largest build volume in its price range among fully enclosed CoreXY printers, the K2 Plus boasts an even larger build volume.
