Elegoo Centauri Carbon Main Features

– CoreXY. Fully enclosed CoreXY 3D printers are known for their stability, compact design, and efficient performance, all within a small footprint. Thanks to the stable build, Centauri Carbon features enhance printing speed, accuracy, and positioning precision.

– Wide Material Capability. Heated chamber, max 320°C hardened steel nozzle tip, and hardened steel dual-gear extruder. Enclosed chamber enhances insulation for precise temperature control and reduces internal stress, improving the quality and strength of the prints. All these features allow the use of a wider range of materials.

Recommended: PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PLA-CF
Compatible: PETG-CF, ABS-CF, ASA-CF, PET-CF, PA-CF, PET, PC, PA

– Auto-leveling and Calibration. Centauri Carbon features four pressure sensors, a proprietary algorithm, and automatic Z-axis compensation during printing.

– Camera. Camera for monitoring live and recording time-lapses. Enables the time-lapse feature before printing to capture the entire process, watch live, and record every step of your print.

– Elegoo Slicer Software. Based on the Orca slicer, which in turn draws from other slicers. Thanks to the open-source movement, slicer software has improved drastically in recent years. As a result, we can find many sophisticated features in Elegoo slicer software.

Centauri Carbon users can manually add the Orca Slicer profile using this file on GitHub. In the upcoming Orca Slicer update, the profile will be officially included, making integration effortless for everyone.

Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo Review

Despite the launch date being February 17th, there is a lot of video material available from third-party testers and reviewers. Here is a video by Uncle Jessy as an example. As usual, Uncle Jessy does an excellent job featuring interesting models. A highly detailed review will also be available on 3DWithUs soon.

Here are other third-party reviews on YouTube.

Conclusion

In the past, Elegoo surprised us with the sought-after features and low price tags of their Mars, Saturn, and Neptune series printers. The affordability of the Centauri Carbon appears to maintain the company’s well-established pricing strategy. As many reviewers and testers have confirmed the machine’s impressive performance, it’s reasonable to expect that a multi-color system will eventually accompany it. As a competitive CoreXY printer on the market today, adding multi-color capabilities could make it a game-changer in this area.
